Local Artist Neil Buchanan's (b1945) first limited edition of Eastbourne scenes.
Neil gets much of his inspiration from the local scenery around Sussex and particularly Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne where he presently lives. His adolescent years growing up in Devon gave him a great love of the coast and sea which he uses to advantage in his paintings.
He started painting as a hobby in his late teens and, apart from school art lessons, is mainly self taught. His career encompassed over 30 years in the art trade, both buying and selling art (other people’s), whilst owning a gallery and framing studio in Sussex. Since retiring he has been able to devote more time to painting in both oil and acrylic.
Together with his painting associate, Martin Sutton, he is delighted to have had the opportunity to show his art in the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club, and they have enjoyed their first joint exhibition in 2017.
Neil’s artwork hangs in collections in the UK , Canada and Australia. He is married to Judy and has a family including two grandchildren. Pets are a thing of the past but dog walking has given him opportunity for contemplation of sky and forest.
